if the incident happened at 1030 and the wound was still bleeding by the time the picture was taken, then my brother in law should be dead by then, as the wound is clearly still bleeding, and the blood was washed away to take the picture as evidence.
notice that only the date is showing not the time, so it could be 1230 or even 1am. the picture prooves that he was still bleeding after 1200 PM!! that is it! now the picture i beleive was taken around 1215, if you care to see the evidence first hand than you are mor ethan welcome to come visit me and i ll show you the time of the picture in the camera, as it shows more details.

the analysis is easy, if he right handed. then I believe that he was hit from behind.
notice the wound starts big from his left side and get narrower from right side.
Any person holding anything with his right hand lets say a gun and makes a down move, notice the hand is not 100% upright, it tilts inwards, making the impact to the left side bigger than the right side.
that's if the object is uniform, which it is in case of the bottom of the gun.
the other move is a swipping hit, same thing... take a pen and swish a line fast with your right hand, you will notice the line is thick at first then it gets narrow and light at the end. same with the gun.
so yep, if he is right handed then he got hit from behind.
but...the problem is this.
no body stands 100% straight, so his head can be in any position at the moment of the hit and it would affect the blow.
so in this to work, the bodyguard has to be 100% behind him, your brother in law 100% straight, and the body guard could hit him with super ease.
that's my analysis.
