If Lebanon has a hero then it is Siniora
If Lebanon want to be a country than follow him
If we want to get out of this catastrophe THAN FOLLOW HIM and DO AS HE SAID
Immediate cease fire
The Lebanese army to the south
And no more violence! Violence only begets more violence! we need to break this vicious cycle! Once and for all!
God Bless you Siniora
You are a hell of a statesman!
Peace
After years of politics, and a long hiatus, I am back. But this time my focus will be on the brighter side of life: reviews of my favorite pass time, like books, series, and movies. In addition, to the unfortunate political commentary...

Undersige thanks to Hezballah
Nassrallah has just condemned us all! On a whim or a premeditated plan, we are condemned!
Day are starting to look alike… a kind of limbo, we are alive but not really. I wake up aimless, eat but the food is tasteless…Panic is setting in but so are the old war habits, long lines in front of bakeries, fuel stations and groceries, people are hoarding goods like there is no tomorrow, and maybe there will not be… But at least the electricity is still on, four hours a day, but I fear not for long.
What is next…more death…destruction…But what befuddled me was those people exuberant with joy who drove around in their cars because Hezbollah hit an Israeli warship. Unbelievable we are getting destroyed back in to the Stone Age and they are happy… Good for them…just do not cry when our country is utterly destroyed, you want war than you should accept its consequences, and you should bear them alone, not make a whole people bear them with you…
All what I feel is intense anger against Hezbollah… and all who stand by them…
PEACE NOW

Peace Now
While shells are falling a few miles away from my home, I cannot but remember this afternoon, while I was driving back home from Beirut Hezbollah sympathizer where offering passerby cookies and candies!
While my ear rings from the sound of explosions I cannot but see the firecrackers Hezbollah sympathizer where launching this afternoon rejoicing in their “great victory”
And tomorrow when I will see the bridge, linking my home town of Saida to Beirut, destroyed and I will only scream from the bottom of my heart: Enough! Enough wars, death and destruction! Curse you Hezbollah to hell and back! For all this destruction, for all this death! No it is not Israel fault! It is your own! Curse you!
We cannot continue on this path! People build and teach and try to live peacfully, while others think only of death, destruction and war… the time has come to stand and say one word: PEACE
I want peace now! I do not care for your ideologies, or your lines drawn on maps! For your religions! For anything! PEACE NOW!

Zarqawi’s death
I would say rejoice, but no death can bring me joy, not even Zarqawi’s
But at least he paid for some of his crimes
May Ben Laden pay for his…
Along with all those who favor death over life
Hate over love
Killing over talking
War over peace

War memories
I used to think that I had few war memories, and none tragic…But it is striking how little events and reaction stay etched in one’s mind, just waiting to resurface. For example till this day every time I hear jet airplane flying over me ( the Israeli air force still pay us visit every couple of weeks) a large grin transform my face and I immediately think “youppi! No school tomorrow!!”
I know this sound strange, but I spent my childhood and adolescence in a school adjacent to the biggest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon (Ain El Heloueh) consequently every week or so Israeli raided the camp and we took a day off, in short I have a Pavlovian reaction to the sound of jet airplanes.
Another memory that I was reminded of recently (last year with all the explosions rocking our poor country) is the special state of mind people get into when fear grabs them that affect all their actions. I used to look out of my window and immediately know that something happened by the way people drove or walked.
Finally some scars lie hidden deep inside ones mind… One of mine just surfaced weeks ago when I watched a film about the Lebanese war called “Zozo”.
The memory is about the priceless handbag mum kept ready by the door with all the irreplaceable papers: passports, house deed, bank paper…
I used to have nightmare about that bag, forgetting it and then having to go back, under the shells and smoke to search for it…
Unfortunately, on the fateful day mum forgot the bag…

A Meme game with a twist
With Lebanon's current political polarization, with each party taking a color as its symbol I think it would be interesting to see how people would react to a Meme game about what color they DISLIKE the most…
As to me at the moment I am torn between yellow and orange, but if I have to choose one I would say orange…
For our friends that have not been keeping up with this war of colors, a glossary is needed so her it is (in alphabetical order, with their political position in regard to Syria)
Black: Bob (in other words my color, secular, free, Lebanese…)
Blue: Future movement (Hariri's supporters, Anti Syrians)
Green: Amal Movement ( Nabih Berry, Pro Syrians)
Orange: Lebanon Free Patriotic Movement ( Aoun's supporters, go ask him about Syria and if you understand his position please do tell me)
Red: Communists (almost instinct, Pro Syrians)
White and red: the 14th of March Movement or/and Geagea Lebanese Forces (Anti Syrians)
Yellow: Hezbollah (Pro Syrians)
Please tell me if I forgot anyone…
